U9 and older Travel
CVYSC offer players U9 and older a more competitive environment.  Playing time is not equal as in intramural and is at the discretion of the coach.  Typically CVYSC has a travel team for each age level U9, U10, U11, U12 etc.  Travel team tryouts are held at the high school in the spring.  Independent evaluators choose the first 11 players.  Coaches and evaluators then collaborate on the next 4-7 roster spots.  Travel players commit for a full soccer year, both fall and spring seasons.  Travel players pay an extra fee and buy their own uniforms usually in the $100 range.  The uniforms are used for two years.  All travel players must tryout for a roster spot each year, no roster spot is guaranteed.  Travel parents must help with the club's 3v3 tournament in May the weekend before Memorial Day.  The tournament is the travel programs main fund raiser.  The time commitment for travel is very similar to that of a travel intramural team.  Half the games will be home, and half will be at schools typically around Lancaster County.  Travel teams start to practice five weeks before the season and may practice longer and more often although twice per week is typical.  Travel teams can participate in three tournaments per soccer year.  The primary focus of the travel program is to develop soccer players.  Having fun is still the top priority.  For more information contact the Travel Coordinator.  Contact information can be found under the board members page on this site.
